Eat

The area is filled with bars and restaurants. Every month, there is a new one, I haven’t tried all, but here are the ones I like the most.
Good to know: if you find a seat on a wood terrace, you have to know that it is supposed to be closed at 10:00 pm.

MY FAVORITE:
EELS: best restaurant in the area. Good price at lunch time from tuesday to friday (39 € starter-dish-dessert). French modern cuisine, perfect seasonings, nice place, nice people.

FRENCH FOOD:
LE 52: good cuisine in a nicely decorated place
BRASSERIE TERMINUS NORD: a typical french brasserie with fresh seafood and with efficient and nice service.
LES RESISTANTS: next door, they cook only local quality food, nice people. Caution: small portions, don’t go there if you are hungry.

LIBANESE FOOD:
AFENDI: very good libanese food with original dishes. try the Fatteh Batingen (veggie), I love it!

GREEK FOOD:
LE GRAND CAFE D’ATHENES: good greek specialties. The place is noisy, better be on the terrace.

PIZZERIA:
LUCKY LUCIANO: nice place, fine pizzas.

BURGERS:
PNY: I haven’t tried, but it is supposed to be a good one.
NAPOLEON: good burger, nice terrace (visit the toilets, you’ll be surprised)

AFRICAN FOOD:
BMK PARIS BAMAKO: next to the building, I love their Yassa (chicken with lemon and oignons), the best quality for african food in the area. Nice people. Take away is also possible if you want to eat on the apartment terrace.

KÜRDISH FOOD:
URFA DURUM: an institution in the area (I haven’t tried – also recommended by the Guardian)

TO AVOID:
HÔTEL GRAND AMOUR: No good people, no good food, high prices, nice decoration.
LIBERTINO: an Instagram restaurant with plastic flowers (in general, avoid restaurants with plastic flowers in Paris) that does not respect the neighbourhood.
